Mark's Story

(Last Updated: End of 2011)

From an early age, Mark always displayed a true love for the art of acting.  Throughout both elementary and secondary school he partook in various school-based plays, often portraying the lead role.  Some of his early work included the role of 'Grandpa' in You Can't Take It With You, and 'The Man' in Morris Panych's 7 Stories.

Along with his theatre-based work Mark has also dedicated a large portion of his time towards the further training and development of his craft.

2007

In August of 2007, Mark attended the IMTA (International Model & Talent Association) Convention in New York City.  At the convention, Mark performed a variety of pieces -including a monologue written and prepared by himself.  His hard work was rewarded as Mark received not only a top ten finish in the monologue competition but also received a scholarship to the New York Conservatory's 'Summer in the City' program.

2008

In July of 2008, Mark utilized that scholarship and attended the New York Conservatory.  At the school, Mark received hands-on training in numerous fields, including -improvisation, film & television, stage combat, and much more.  Mark feels that the skills and opportunities he received at the school have greatly helped him to fully harness all of his acting-based capabilities.

Since returning from New York, Mark has continued to work at the various elements of his craft. In September of 2008, he was cast in a supporting role in a music video by the Canadian Indie band The Dears, entitled Money Babies. A link to this video is posted under the 'Video' tab of this website.
